It is typically initiated when there are credible reports, complaints, or suspicions that someone within the organization has engaged in behavior that may be harmful to individuals, the organization's operations, or its finances. It is important to note that this is an internal administrative procedure, not a legal proceeding.
The goal of an internal investigation is to establish an accurate and unbiased understanding of the events or actions in question, determine whether any laws, regulations, or internal policies have been violated, and recommend appropriate corrective or disciplinary action based on the findings.
Our internal investigations follow a structured process that includes defining the scope and objectives, gathering and preserving evidence, interviewing witnesses and involved parties, analyzing findings, and often producing a final report. Maintaining confidentiality, avoiding bias, and adhering to legal and ethical standards are critical components throughout the investigation to protect the rights of all individuals involved and to maintain the integrity of the process.
